  • Alas, my last of 4 to celebrate Nita & I meeting 46yrs ago um, disco dancing! Thankfully leading to 45yrs of marriage, 2 kids and 2 fantastic grandsons so far. Aside from dancing we found out we love; music, movies, walks, picnics, travel and hiking together. She loved cooking & I love eating her dishes! This did not disappoint with Cornish Hen. These have always been stunning examples of feather weight, silky, red fruited complex Burgundy with excellent aromatics and plenty spice, earth, mineral, mushroom and other nuances on the palate. Uber balance, purity & finesse. Gave this a simple 4hr slow-ox in 2 Burg glasses & btl prior to dinner. Served in high 50s / low 60s via an occasional return to the frig b4 dinner. Purchased on release and stored in my temp-controlled wine cabinets. Cork was pristine & hardly any sediment 12.5% alc. 94/95

  • Exceptional aromatics, this certainly delivers the full Mugnier experience in terms of perfume. On the palate, there's a good amount of tannin and acid that overpowers the fruit a bit, but it's still so silky and elegant. Just a really pretty and super delicious village wine.

  • I've been a lucky frequent guest of Dave & Desi D's & recently for a feast at Big Al & Janelle's. So, we had both couples over tonight for some trout & Linguini Di Frutti Nita, I & Joe cooked up & paired w/ a couple champagnes, a couple Chablis & a couple red Burgs.

This was opened 3hrs prior to dinner & finding it in pretty nice place I put the cork back in till 2hrs b4 drinking w/ the Frutti del Mare. Served in Riedel Burgs around 58-64 degrees. Alc a modest 12.5%. Semi translucent bright red w/ amber edges. Lovely aromas of roses, underbrush & red berries. Palate is signature Mugnier w/ spot on fruit purity, transparency & weightlessly silky elegance. Still some gorgeous red fruit w/ a hint of sweetness drifting on a core of mineral & underbrush. Hints of licorice & other harmonics out of descriptor reach. I think, this is at peak or, very close? One left that I may roll the dice on & wait for its 20th in 2026. Purchased on release & carefully stored. 94+ My fav of my 2 reds tonight.

  • Chalky tannins. And quite a lot of it. Nice fruit.

  • Pure, silky, super perfumed. The strength, balance, and supple sweetness in the core. So smooth and powerful. 93-94
