  • Much better than my last btl. In fact seems like a different wine. This is very classic Savoie: mineral driven, perfect acid, peach, pear, white flowers. Aromatically this is quite unique and evolves quite a bit with time in the glass. After a mediocre first btl I now realize this is great.

  • Molette. This is not my favorite. I don't think I have had any experience with Molette as a single varietal, and I think I see why. There is a certain creaminess to this, which is sort of nice, but overall it is rather neutral and devoid of character. Just tastes sort of generic like poorly chosen Italian whites can. It has little of the tense high altitude acid, wild flowers and herbs that is just so nice in the Savoie. This may have lost a bit in freshness over the years. I also wonder whether this creaminess is from a malo fermentation which is not my style for this region. While still holding and not flawed, this should drunk up.

  • served chiled with roasted chicken and potatoes. Medium acids, honey, medium-heavy. Herbal notes showed as it warmed (and become much more interesting).
