Very nice presentation of a new world Tempranillo. Dark fruit, spice, and vanilla. Tannins were integrated and the wine had a lovely balance with medium long finish. Very enjoyable now, another fine wine from Epoch.

Opened a couple of hours before drinking. This is in prime time, lots of dark fruit and texture. Fruit is big enough to balance the alcohol, tannins are very refined. Good for several more years but no reason to wait.

DnP: + sediment; dark ruby, medium to full-bodied, dark fruit, some cedar, licorice, vanilla notes, spice; mid-palate sweetens in the glass, lasting alightly astringent finish, a touch hot; no reason to wait

Three hour decant time, the nose is on the cherry side with herbs popping up along with vanilla. The palate is dry and very tart, like sucking on a sweet tart, with lip smacking acidity and stringent tannins that almost overwhelm the red fruit that peeks out. This is a highly structured, reduced wine that will appeal to a particular palate........it appealed to mine....
