PnP. Very nice right out of the bottle. Delicious fruit, nice acidity, smooth tannins. Vanilla on the finish. Very balanced. If this improves at all with air it'll be a total steal at $15-16. This wine is trying to wrestle a 90 from me.
A nice but relatively simple wine. The color is ruby with some purple hues, medium in intensity. The nose is clean and pretty, with a nice floral element. The palate is dry, with red fruit flavors and a slightly bitter finish. The acidity is medium, the alcohol is medium at 13.5%. The tannins are quite smooth and soft at medium (-) in intensity. This is a good, food-friendly wine and a good value at $14.00. Still, it is easy to see how the ripasso method evolved to give it a little more umph.
Terribly boring on the first day, a lot better on the second. Nose is quite muted with cherries, tobacco and slight raisins. High acidity but sweetish fruit and relatively smooth tannins. Full bodied with a decent length and intensity. After 24hours it's a lot more open.
