  It is so frustratingly rare to find a grand cru that actually tastes like a grand cru. This Potel Beze is altogether remarkable from the aroma right through to the exquisite, long palate. It starts with enticing aromas of dark candied strawberries. The flavors are extraordinary, sexy dark cherries, fresh strawberry acidity, supple licorice, all deeply saturated, and a clean finish. This is a powerhouse of satisfaction. Showing some bricking at the edge.

  An extraordinary showing for this Potel. A complex aroma followed by cherries and fresh strawberries on the saturated palate, along with candied red fruits. This is why we cellar burgundy.

  Slight bricking at the edge. Deeply saturated garnet color and some sediment in the bottle. This has plenty of fruit, showing black cherries, berries, dark fruits. Good length, balanced, saturated flavors, just lacks complexity but holds your interest. Ready to drink now.

  Big beautiful wine with good vintage characteristics, solid fruit and beautiful secondary flavors beginning to emerge. A favorite among some good burgs on this evening. Probably still early in its optimal drinking window. A nice surprise.
