This is 100% barrel fermented with ambient yeast, 30% new, and stays on the gross lees for nine months. Pale golden yellow, showing aromas of citrus, butter toast, vanilla and subtle oak. Rich on the palate with fresh acidity carry through seamless mid-palate. Wonderful long aftertaste with creamy butterscotch. This is another impressive Chardonnay from South Africa. Still holding very well.

Chardonnay Tweet up in Elgin (Cape Town): fairly intense light yellow colour. Aromas of nut, sea salt, mineral and oatmeal. Fresh and vibrant with oak quite prominent at the moment but works. Classy wine on the palate with more a mineral line, juicy fruit, finishes perhaps a tad short. Plenty of apples and lemons are all cut with vibrant acidity, showing Elgin capabilities. Perhaps a tad drying on the finish for me.

Heavy oak, engulfing other characteristics. Sour acidity, some apples and pineapple, loads of butter. Too over the top.

Smör, kokos, nötter och tropisk frukt. Balans.
Fyllig med smak av blodgrape och apelsin. Bra syra och längd.
