Brambly fruit, with a few herbs and spices, and a little leather, it's sleek and well-structured, which calls out for food. You can pick out both the red fruited brightness of the Grenache and the blackberries and leather of the Syrah, reminding me of a good, traditional Cairanne. Well-done and a very good value.

Opened one hour in advance. Aromas of red fruit and black pepper. Flavors of tart boysenberry, minerals, spice. Some lemon and vanilla in the tart, full finish.
Cut from the same cloth as Texier (France) and Edmunds St. John (California), this is a balanced, interesting, well structured wine made in the style of a relatively restrained Cotes du Rhone Villages . It's a great QPR no matter who you compare it to, but by California standards it's an outstanding value.

Lots of acid and minerals, bright fruit. Drank with Jimmy after a Napa cab (not the brightest) but enjoyable and worth $10 for sure.

Simple, grapey. Tart without much more. But nothing off about it.
