Wow, what a surprise! This was a fantastic and vibrant bottle of wine. Plenty of lively fuit, with dark berry, tobacco, eath and dried herb. Full bodied with enough tannin to shore up the ample fruit. F: Medium+, with more dark fruit, oak and tannin. Very nice wine that reminded me of Clio with its delicious viscosity and complexity. A runaway winner for QPR for the year. 91++++

Lovely subdued cherry on the nose, with hints of eucalyptus and violets. Strong tannins and fruit. The fruit emerges first, then followed by smooth dusty tannins. Finish at first a bit bitter, but this dissipates with an hour in the glass, and finish is very pleasant -- some good fruit, caramel, and perhaps a hint of mint. This is really nice. And great qpr. The high alcohol, 15.5 according to the label, is handled nicely.

Popped and poured a glass, decanted the rest. Very rich and powerful, but of fruit forward. Went very well with filet mignon but the tanins might be a bit much right now for just sipping. Has many years left in it.

Again, ripe and jammy, 15.5% alcohol is on display a bit, too. Not nearly as good at the 2005 or 2010 for my palate. Still, not a bad wine to go with burgers or pizza.
