Popped-and-poured. Ripe fresh and macerated black cherry with forest floor and braised meat. Not pristine but also not dirty, this is classically Old School Burgundy, with the density to proudly proclaim its Grand Cru pedigree, plus the style of Gevrey, even if not obviously shouting its Chambertinity. Very good now.

Deep purple still, high toned, even a touch acetic (it troubled me more than others), reasonable depth, but simple on the palate. Lacks complexity, but decent. Drink soon.

Nice dark color for a Pinot Noir. The wine is still tannic and a bit high in acidity. There is intensity of structure and cherry fruit but lacking in the matured flavors of a grand cru of this caliber and an Esmonin no less. Another five plus years would be my guess.

sous bois , earth and fresh tobacco leaves and cigar box. Musky , truffles and undergrowth with what I would normally think a gevrey would bring. Very rustic and dirty yet nobly refined.

(Frederic Esmonin Chambertin) Slightly bricking dark raspberry red color; nice, youthful, tart red fruit, cranberry, mineral, iron palate with good acidity and balance, needs 2-3 years; medium-plus finish

barnyard nose, quite typical Pinot, a bit short. but overall quite nice for the vintage.
