  Dark core and beginnings of an orange rim. Great cabernet nose wafting up from the decanter - cigar box, oak, charcoal, sawn wood, sandalwood, dusty berry. A big , mouthcoating wine, not at integration stage yet - oak is detectable and a tannin furriness back of palate. More cigar elements come into play. Very long finish. This deserves another 5 years at least and animal protein (wagyu I think) and perhaps even a darkened wood paneled room within which to contemplate it.

  Wow what a wine , deep and complex with plenty of ageing capability , will open another in 5 years time , great Aussie Cabernet that will not disappoint

  Appearance: Bright and clear, the wine is of deep purple colour, with narrow fading rim and legs.
  Nose: Clean, with pronounced intensity aromas of black fruit of blackberry and blackcurrant, oak notes of smoke and vanilla, kernel notes of coffee, mineral notes of tar, animal notes of leather, pungent spice of liquorice. The wine is youthful.
  Palate: Dry with medium acidity, the wine has medium (+) tannin of ripe and silky texture, medium (+) alcohol and medium (+) body, with medium (+) flavours of black fruit of blackberry and cassis, oak notes of vanilla and toast, kernel notes of chocolate. The wine has a medium (+) finish.
  Conclusion: Very good quality Australian Cabernet Sauvignon with a really intense nose showing great complexity, the wine is still fairly young but demonstrating a lot of potential, with robust structure and power on the palate, nice and silky tannin, with concentrated flavours as well as a fairly long finish. It is ready to drink now though can benefit from further ageing of another 7-9 years.
