  • WOW!

This bottle is just incredible, the aromas are off the chart, floral, smoke, red fruit spectrum, anise, I can sniff this all day.
The palate, layered, fully intergrated, with beautiful structure and an amazing backbone of acidity, mile long finishg, again WOW!

Holding for now, but its definitely a drink now/soon wine, as its so good why wait?

  • Brickish color, first impression was disappointing, with some sweetish fruit, and almost flat, but after an hour of air, the wine started to regain its structure, showing notes of lush fruit, leather and truffle, with a lingering aftertaste.
    A beautiful and delicious experience.

  • (Historic vertical tasting of all Léoville Poyferré's kosher cuvées 1999-2005, Savyon, February 11th 2014) Deep garnet towards purple, a touch of Brett and barnyard funk, with dusty black fruit such as cassis and blackberries. Very full-bodied and fleshy with on the palate blackberries and black cherries, black truffles and pencil lead with a touch of sweet oak and dark chocolate, very nice acidity and integrating tannins on the long and luscious finish. Broader shoulders than the '99 with enough power to develop further layers of complexity for 10 years. Drink now-2025, possibly longer. 96+

  • Rosh Hashanah dinner (Seattle, WA, USA): Mmm, this is a serious wine but just not ready right now. Really nice nose, strong green tobacco and stalk. The palate is tight, tight, tight, juicy red fruit, strong mineral tones, nice acidity, gripping tannins. I popped and poured and followed for 3 hours, and it wasn't even close to enough. I have a bit left that I will revisit tomorrow, but I think this just wants some years.
