  • Decanted two hours. still the nose is super fruity, with cherry juice and fresh vegetal notes. Mouth structured with cherry spirit, bloody orange bitterness, liccorice and a good amount of cedar. Tertiary notes gives its complexity; old wardrobe, dust, and wet forest.
If I look clues opposite to sangioves , particulary in Brunello ; here there less acidity, more structure, more tannins, more tar and bitter sweat notes. A wine at his peak. Not my taste, but very good.

  • Pnp. Deep hue with brown borders. Nice juicy and fruity nose, grainy and dusty. Mouth different dark and bitter, with licorice ,tar and strong vegetal notes as bramble bush bitter. tannins enhance that masculine structure. A complex and rustic that remind me the Polyvidone iodin solution. Still a good wine supposed at his peak but not my taste. Piemond are not my favourite wine. Let's give a second chance on Angus stew...

  • Blind Nose of sap, dairy yogourt, blackberries. Mouth full of vivacity, bitterness, light tannins. A bit rough and young at the beginning, still with fruit core, good potential, tannins super fine. Not for aperetif. But afterwards matching perfectly a porcetto; bitterness disappear, super fine tannins, deep black fruit basket.

  • At tasting. Brief note. Nose and palate show quite young with noticeable alcohol poking out. Coffee, dark chocolate, and cinnamon with a touch of hot dry earth on the backend. This is rich and chewy but out of balance. I don't see it coming together with time based on this bottle.

  • As with the last bottle, a much bigger wine than expected. Good fruit, but maybe not the acid I would expect. Best with a heartier meal. I will continue to age future bottles to see where this one goes.
