Bought this bottle directly from the winery a few months ago. So presumably it was well stored. But, when trying to open it, the cork crumbled inside the neck of the bottle. We poured the wine through the pieces of cork that stayed stuck inside the neck.
The wine was good. An hour of breathing was important. A very well-balanced wine, softened by age. Well-balanced but restrained. The palate was better than the nose: pretty good length.

It smells like black currant (cassis), fig, mineral, forest floor and light toast. The wine looks inky colored. There is heavy sediment in the bottle. After decanting for 2 hours, to my surprise the old bottle was still good. However, if you have one left better drink up. It is at the end.

Had this today after having the cab yesterday. Rounded and soft. Tannins were mild but still had plenty of fruit left. In addition, the color was that of a younger wine as well, like the cab was. These have aged well and while it lacked some structure and finish it was still very nice for having being cellared this long. I would definitely drink this now though.

Steak Tenderloin. Wine was surprisingly bright, acidic with velvety? tannins. 90?

Still good acid and tannins that sneak up on you. We didn't decant and enjoyed it, even if it was not very complex.
