Served with partridge and sherry lentils, and was wonderful with partridge. Went down very well with everyone. Late in drinking window, but really seemed OK. Good bottles. So Burgundian. Possibly better value than burgundy.

PnP: my first thought was, bewilderingly, “rown paper bag”. I’ve honestly not eaten that many. Within 20 minutes a wonderful nose emerged and this is a great little wine. Warm new world bouquet. Wonderful combination of new world warmth and old world sophistication. Feels punchy at £30 but very pleasurable.

Obviously a bit overpriced at ~40$, but still nice. Smoky, developed, mellow tannins, acidity and fruit still there but waning. Drank this together with the ABC 2012 Santa Barbara pn which was perhaps less complex but more vibrant. Seemingly this is past its prime; drink up.

Good provenance. But cooked and black fruited is a bit tired. Still fine acidity and tannins still at play and drying

Cherry, dust on the nose. Delicate flavors. Good balance but more acid and fruit than tannins. Pleasant finish.
