Deep gold in color, rather neutral in the nose, yet flavors surprisingly tart for a California Chardonnay. Except for the 14.2% alcohol, this wine is similar to a warm year Macôn with its very pleasing citric accent. The appellation is Sonoma Coast, but this AVA encompasses a very large territory, from the Pacific Ocean to the warmest areas of just outside the Russian River AVA. My guess is that the vines were young or that the yield was high due to its lack of middle body. Still, it's a very good value for the $14 I paid. Tasted blind, it might be confused for a Pouilly Fuissé.

A solid mid-range chardonnay that unfortunately has a slight effevesience that detracts. Lemon and honey on the nose and palate, some minerality, a decent acidity level, with mild oak, slight yeast component and granny ith apple on the finish.

Great QPR @ $10. Lemon citrus with notes of oak and golden color with a lingering finish.
