Much as I still remember this wine from over 6 years ago! Outstanding Chianti at a price that (still) can't be beat! With time comes maturity and retrospection and wow does this deliver. The fruit has emerged and is creamy berry wonderful but just when you think its going to slide off into something sweet or soft, a core of acid straightens it out and directs it forward. Smooth tannins and dark fruits finish the mouthful.
I know that Rufina is considered an inferior area by many Chianti aficionados, but set aside any prejudices and consider this! Made only in good years from select barrels, back in the day this was $12+ but you can still find the 2014 for $15 (in fact one of the stores selling it at that price is near me and I am going there tomorrow to buy a few bottles!)

Deep black core with red edges. A bit of sediment has been thrown. Very nice aromatics of black fruit, cocoa, and spices. Silky smooth tannins with a juicy rich black cherry and dark chocolate finish. Full bodied, and gorgeous for what it is, even if somewhat one dimensional. Yum. For twelve dollars??

This wine seems to get better with each bottle. Rich nose of cherries and spice, lush fruit, good finish, delivers well beyond its price.

For such an inexpensive bottle, surprising nice nose of earth, spice and leather. Bright acids, round, medium finish. Excellent value wine.
