Medium bodied, with a nice nose. Good grip and a solid finish, but the mid-palate is lacking, probably due to the fact that the fruit is fading (at least for this bottle). This is on the decline compared to the last bottle I had; I'd drink up. It isn't going to get any better.
A beautiful med brick red at the core, fading to a med tawny color at the rim. The nose is clean, showing off an immediate barnyard aroma, with underlying red and black fruits including black cherry and plum, along with floral notes of lilac and a bit of smoke. The palate shows a med bodied wine, with nice med/med+ acidity, and med intensity, fine grained tannins that seem to become more evident with air. The flavors echo from the nose, including stewed plum and black cherry pit, with additional flavors that remind me of leather and smoke. There is a gorgeous, med+ finish of black cherry and leather. This is a very nice wine, showing great complexity that comes with maturity. It is drinking beautifully right now, and will continue to do so through 2022 or so. Delicious Margaux.
Sexy, creamy (nearly syrupy), however no confit-style, good fruit in the nose and the taste. Missing complexity (reminded me of the 2003 Chambolle-Musigny (!) Vieilles Vignes de Perrot-Minot) but giving lots of pleasure. Has the balance to survive at least the next 5 years.

(Chateau Giscours Margaux) A lovely nose here, demonstrating plenty of pure Margaux perfume, remarkable regarding the heat of the vintage. It has a deep, rich, gravelly character that I find immensely appealing. Full and textured on the palate, but with a reserved feel, lovely style though, and a rather racy presence on the palate. The tannins come through on the finish, but overall I find this wines youthful exuberance and structure to have great appeal. And it has typicité, and a good length, too. There's lots here to stand up to the tannins. Really very good indeed.
(Chateau Giscours Margaux) Lovely, lifted and expressive, mineral-tinged fruit here. A delightful impact. Lovely, rounded structure on the palate, which shows a creamy style with nicely knitted tannins, and elegant presence and good balance. Firm acidity and overall very good structure. A success.
