At around $14 an inexpensive wine from Puglia in southern Italy from the Uva di Troia grape. Very dark color, opaque with an inch pour. The nose is mostly hints of English walnut, licorice, and plum. The mouthfeel is soft, limpid, and juicy, and tannin becomes noticeable only after the swallow, with a slightly bitter and vegetable taste. Overall, drinkable but neither distinguished nor much enjoyable.

Dark garnet with some browning at the rim. Appears unfiltered. Medium(+) intensity aromas of sweet black/red fruit with chocolate/cola and dusty undertones. Medium bodied with good acidity. I totally agree with recent reviewers regarding this wine, this wine was splendid when I had it last, approx one year ago. It appears to have lost a good amount of fruit, especially on the palate. Still very nice on the nose however. I get some Rhone character out of this wine, though the acidity still brings one back to Italy.
