  • Screw cap. 14% ABV. Medium yellow-gold. Grape skin, ripe citrus, ripe pear, melon, ripe pineapple, earth, and intense white pepper spice, with medium-minus acidity and impressive length. Full-bodied, with great concentration, a creamy texture, and great persistence. Consistent on days two and three. Ripe, and hedonistic. And quite intriguing!

  • Better showing than the previous bottle, and a very good wine, enjoyed with fresh kielbasa and potatoes - a meal that should work well, and did. The nose is more setailed and complex than the palate, which is delicious but at this point lacking the complexity and detail to elevate this to something more grand. It could emerge over time, I suppose. I have my doubts...

  • In the end, I’m a bit confused by this wine. On day one I thought it was great. Gave it plenty of air and although on opening it was disjointed, it came together well. Beautiful nose of bright yellow fruit, green herbs, creme fraiche. Broad in body, some of which seemed compacted and perhaps in need of time to unwind. A bit blocky on the palate but very pretty after a few hours, showing lovely tension. I had to stop myself from drinking more than half of it - it says 14% alcohol and I wanted to see it the next day.

Day two not as impressive. Whatever I thought needed to unwind wasn’t really there. It no longer felt compacted but it also wasn’t terribly complex, and had lost the tension that balanced the wine. It came off as too big on the palate, almost ponderous. Maybe this is better to drink soon.

  • Wayyyyyyy too young ! But i was so curious about this wine and had to open one bottle. Bernhard said that 2012 was off the charts ( abartig ) ! I dont know if he is right. Today its very sweet and mouthcoating. The components haven t found eachother. So wait a minimium of 5 years. There is so much in it. Let it sleep. 91 +++
