  • Fair dues this is an old wine now! But still some ripe dark berry fruit from this good bottle. Sure it has leather mushroom tobacco notes but why not. Benefits from 2 hrs decant and has a smooth balanced flavour great with a steak. Totally enjoyable and glad to have 4 more.

  • This was all over the place. First taste shortly after opening, thought it was going to be vinegar. Waited a bit (20 mins) and it was quite nice with a meal. Felt heavy with tannins and by bottle's end, the heaviness was all too apparent. Nowhere for this to go at this age, so open it up for a drink or down the sink!

  • Sadly, this did not last the time, 27 years to long. But was impressed that it still had some structure mostly vinegar

  • This bottle is approaching the 20 years old mark. Being not one of the premium range and current release selling only $20, I am skeptical whether it is still holding.
Pop & pour, it has a dark core with light purple tinge which suggest the youthful appearance. It has blackcurrant, dried herbs, tobacco and cedar notes on the nose. Surprisingly it is holding well and young with plenty of dark fruits. The palate is mellow and smooth, with blackcurrants, herbs, nice minty character and hints of tobacco. It has good acidity, medium finish with soft silky tannins.
I enjoyed drinking this wine, mature nicely although it lacks of some old world complexity.
