  • Medium-dark purple in glass, aromas of cassis and dried fruit. A bit thin on the palate, and with notes of mint or Eucalyptus, the fruit flavors are more muted than expected, and tannins are a bit green. Some added flavors of light woodsmoke appear on the short-medium finish. (DAY 2 UPDATE: FLAVORS MUCH MORE INTEGRATED, SHOWING MORE CABERNET TYPICITY AND GENERAL COMPLEXITY WITH A BORDEAUX-LIKE RESULT, ADJUSTED MY RATING UPWARD. NEEDS DECANT/AERATION, OR OPEN DAY PRIOR FOR BEST RESULTS. VERY FOOD-FRIENDLY.)

  • Plum, coffee bean, a little alcohol, oak, feels overwrought and slightly tired.
