  • The 2012 Mt. Difficulty Pinot Noir Bannockburn Pinot Noir is a medium to deep tawny-colored wine that raised some initial concerns. However, on the nose, it delivers delightful aromas of strawberries, raspberries, and subtle mushroom and barnyard notes, adding a unique and inviting character to the wine. On the palate, it's luscious, smooth, and fruit-forward, dominated by cherry flavors that complement the nose nicely. With a relatively short middle palate, the wine finishes with a leathery and tar note that's persistent but not overpowering. Overall, an enjoyable and well-crafted wine that offers good value for its price. If you are holding this I would recommend checking in from now onwards as may be at or near peak.

  • "...Savory, subtly smokey, and permeated with a cola/spice element, this is drinking well but we actually think it will evolve into something extra special for those who can wait a few years. The tannins are soft, yes, but certainly noticeable, and seem to build as you take more sips; and while the aromatics are gorgeous, there's a sense that they are slightly closed. Either take the time to let this develop in the glass, or give it a snooze in the cellar for a little bit before cracking it open! Drink 2020-2024 with king salmon and cauliflower-parsnip veloutė."

  • From a 375ml bottle. Excellent wine - dark fruits frame very well integrated oak, subtle tannin, noticeable pepper on the finish. Great drinking.
