Bottle 1683 / 2840. A bottle opened before of this was badly corked btw. Shame! Luckily a second was at hand and it was clean. I had this wine two years back and it was beyond perfection. Today comments about this having shut a bit are founded. It’s aromas are still otherworldly with that killer note of firecracker and umami that I encounter two years back but it’s less pronounced. There is also a good floralality and freshness of lychees that give it lift. Sensational as it is it did not dwarf the 08 consumed the night before which was at its seeming apogee while this 12 would be the one to revisit in 10 or more years hence. Today it’s more like a good 98 but due to my feeling of its crazy potential and knowledge of how it was two years ago it’s going to 100, so 99+ today. But if you own a bottle don’t touch. I only did as it was in a restaurant and there won’t be no more in ten years hence...

A toasty nose. Lots of savoury and the wood is evident. Very elegant for a relatively young wine. Nice red fruits. From TL
