Amazing the amount of youthfulness that was in this wine. Poured a very light straw color to the glass. The nose was a hint of butterscotch, but mostly sharp and surprisingly youthful yellow fruits with moderately sharp acidity. Mango, honeydew, a hint of Werther's Original. Ripe peach cobbler, white pepper finish. Chappellet really never seems to disappoint me with the longevity of their wines but I will say this is definitely the most aged Chardonnay I have ever had from them (their early 1970s Cabernet are still drinking beautifully). If you can find these on the secondary market as I did, you will probably be able to get these at a very good price. But, based on this experience, I will tell you that this wine shows very little aged character, and still has a significant amount of life left.

Good crisp Chardonnay. Has a delicious factor. Great nose of apples, lemons. On the palate I get apricots and a slight creaminess with good acidity. Medium finish.
Always a consistently reliable producer. Btw if you want a more oak/butter and full bodied Chardonnay, look at their Signature Chardonnay (member only though).

Solid Chardonnay, with apple favors and moderate oak.
