This wine has improved much since I tasted it in October 2016. Coming into its own. Interesting, somewhat discordant but sweet aroma of cranberry and peach cobbler. On the palate an interesting mix of olive and blackberry plus camphor, vanilla, clove, and bacon. Fun to drink. Decant 2.5 hours as of April 2018.

Initial glass poured through Vinturi. Blackberry and black currant, spice and leather. A bit restrained, took a couple of hours to really open up. Tannins are quite noticeble but soften with time in the glass. It's a big wine but it also has finesse, with a nice mid-palate flourish and a long finish.
The aromatics of this wine are outstanding. Recommend a good pour in an appropriate glass, then spend a couple of hours just swirling and savoring the nose. No cheating and taking a sip; have patience and you will be rewarded.

Drank with family on Christmas. Excellent concentration, tannins softened nicely, good acidity as typical of this wine.

Needed to blow off some funk. But then, smoked, salty meat, chocolate, black fruit. Still can use a decent decant.
