  • Quince, citrus and nettles on the nose, not sure if I can find any apricots in there anymore. In fact, these seem to have taken on an acacia honey character now. On the palate the same quince, citrus and nettles are met by the first signs of plum while retaining the herbal, indeed saline counterpoint.

Thus we have entered into mature white zone, and for those that cannot tolerate old wines this would mean to drink up. For me this is just right, and with superb balance. Sadly, it was my last botte.

  • Drinking well now - and given a ripe year its probably at about peak. Just enough acidity to provide some back structure and give the wine some salinity. Some slight tropical notes given that 2012 was a hot year - Enjoyable - drink up!

  • In a great place right now.

Popped and poured. Nice citrus nose, granny smith apples, pear. Taste similar to nose with great acid level.

This wine is singing right now.

  • light gold, clear. pear aromas, mineral and light saline attack, a touch of creamy texture in the mid palate, sharp finish, medium length. with some time the sharpness integrates and balances out.

  • Observed over 5 consecutive days.

Weak but classy quince-apricot-nose, yes a bit floral and some hay too. Went from a 92 on day 1 to a 91 on days 3 to 5 because it weakened further. Then the palate is a bone dry play of lemon fruit on a pretty steely, crystal clear thoroughbass of granite, nutmeg and nondescript "alkaloids". Pretty long. Went from a 90 on day 1 to a 91-92 on the days that followed.

In my very limited experience with Chardonnay it was the best Chablis I have tasted to date. Still I wonder if it is worth the money compared to what I can get from German Rieslings for that price - but also I am not really into Chardonnay in general or Chablis in particular. If you are then this is very recommendable.
