Totally delicious, just the right hint of sweetness but plenty of acid to back it up. Probably even better in five years. Popped and poured. Will try to hold off on drinking other bottles.

Baby-killin'. Smells wonderful, wound tight as they come on the palate. Great initial attack leads into a strong acidic surge in the finish that ends the wine somewhat abruptly in my opinion. This has the intensity, texture and acidic structure to age a good while and I won't break into my other bottles for some time, 5 years at minimum. Tighter on day 1, an easier beverage on day 2 but still tightly wound with little finish past acid.

This is certainly a different experience, and some might say an acquired taste. Light to medium body. On first opening, the bouquet had something of baked bread and minerals. The flavors start with acid, followed by wood and minerals, then tart fruit, and a solid acid finish. The fruit component includes tart green and red apples. The wine is dry and mineral driven with the minerals becoming increasingly prominent after the wine is open for awhile. Definitely a product of the soil and terroir.

Rated on 2nd day. Beautiful wine. Nose which is both delicate, potent and exciting at the same time. Lemon rind, stones, sea salt. Splash of acidity on palate which is all in balance and weightless.

I hesitated buying this as I was a little worried about the VDP parameters... As it is, it is hot, alcoholic, one sided, lacking character, dark, brooding, etc. Where is the brightness? The soaring lime/citrus? The Saar-like minerality? It comes across as a ripe Chardonnay. Disappointing!
