A bit in the barn initially , that blew off after an hour or 2. High end village wine, handled the age very well. The wine was a mouthful , fruit was not drying , in a good place.

Christmas Dinner with Pat & Alfio (At their apartment): The cork was popped about an hour before serving (thanks AL). Very attractive strawberry, red cherry and black cherry notes on the nose. All of these follow on to the medium bodied palate along with earth notes and minerality - all wrapped in nicely balancing acidity. A Village wine that 'punches above its weight'. Should hold for many years.

Alongside the brilliant 2007, both opened an hour+ before serving. This is a brooding powerhouse, so large-scaled for village wine. Unlike the 2007, this isn't classically "Chambolle" to me, with more dark fruits and meatiness that I'd consider more Gevrey-like, but still really wonderful.

Great condition, medium body, lots of red fruits and so much fresher than the last bottle. On this showing it will last for a good few years more
