  • Decanted for 1h. Amazing nose of violet, mushroom, red currant and sandalwood. Fresh and elegant, with bright red berry attack, cranberry pie, dried herbs and a touch of oak. More red fruit and notes of sweet rubharb emerge on the lingering finish.

  • Nose: Gorgeous nose of red fruit, game, iron, mineral, sweet cherry, oak and florals. Very complex and a lot of depth. Palate: Extremely impressive silky palate feel that has just enought tannin in reserve to bite a but. Rusticity in an elegant presentation. Layers of fruit, earth, game, mushroom and burnt embers. Finish: Great length and a lasting impression of a great Gevery.

Slow ox for about 12 hours and enjoyed thoughout Christmas day. Very enjoyable wine entering early window. Wish I had more.

  • Terrific nose. Just super complex and enchanting: iron-rich mineral, game, red fruit, roses, licorice, mushroom, egg yolk, thyme. Many of my notes aren't fruit related, but that only speaks to the complexity - there is a ton of fruit here. Its a big burgundy. Still has some chewiness, I find a tiny bit of astringency on the mid-finish. I think it will be even better in a couple years, the finish should lengthen with age. Really terrific bottle for $42 at my local shop.

  • Decanted 45 minutes+
Nice dark fruit plus sweetness on sides of tongue, stiff gritty tannins and a bit of a sharp bite there-Needs time is all. I'd give it 4-5 years, and try one again ~2021 onwards. I'd probably rate it higher once it settles down.

  • Perfect. Gunpowder, peppercorns, & roses on the nose; lots of well integrated fruit on the palate. Beautifully made wine, ready to drink, with some breathing space beforehand.
