Last bottle of 24, and needless to say one of the better ones. Mid garnet to mid ruby. Nicely autumnal nose with a hint of prune sur-maturité. This has pulled together again and is back to it’s mid 2000’s form after a decided lull in the early 2010’s. Mid weight, quite silky, red fruit with a touch of bramble and a slight gaminess that pairs well with the pheasant. ***1/2

A bit better than previous bottles, but generally creaking compared to some lovely bottles in the early 2000s. Soft red fruit, light to medium weight, some gamey development and sous bois. Lacks depth and complexity but perfectly drinkable. **1/2

Similar to previous bottle - slightly pruney, lacks some focus. Feels as if it's starting to come apart at the seams. Perfectly pleasant, but lacking somewhat. **1/2

Decent enough but it does feel as if this is fading a bit. Slightly pruney and meaty fruit, good acidity but lackin a bit of clarity/focus. Went nicely with a roast rib of veal though. **1/2

Mid ruby to full garnet. Slightly cooked plum nose with hints of grilled beef. A gamey sous-boise element too. Similar on palate but showing a slightly overdone slightly bitter liquorish twang. Ok but not the best bottle of this. **1/2
