  • Very impressive Chardonnay for the price, in a way the French excel with. The approach is very soft and elegant, but as you have had a couple of tastes slide over the palate there is a nicely complete invasion, that sort of sneaks up on you, of expressive fruit and multiple secondary flavors. The color is surprisingly light. The nose is basically unforgiving and not indicating what is to follow. The real pleasure of this wine is the very individually distinct and controlled lineup of lime, melon, mandarin orange, lemon, peach, apricot and white apple. All this is wrapped in a package of shale influenced. flinty minerality. And we to emphasize the light hearted elegance that allows these layers of flavor to blossom. Balance is also the word. The finish is clean and smooth with citrus and mineral for several minutes.
