This bad boy is singing right now. Polished off a bottle by myself in a little over half an hour. Beautiful funk, perfectly quaffable but still contemplative. Notes similar to last review with a bit of mellowing. Thinking of finishing off my final four bottles within the year. In a really good place right now.

Burnt ruby red. Nose: Hello burnt orange and scorched Earth. Wax. Raspberries and Marion berries. Chinese Five Spice. Palate: Medium bodied, medium acidity. Definite tannin structure keeps it well-framed, but doesn't tighten the palate. Big on the burnt Orange with Raspberries and Cherries. Lot of tobacco and petrol. Ton of dark tobacco and petrol. Touch of Thyme. Decent streak of salinity. Black currant and a whisper of black pepper. Vegetal quality on the back end. Finish: it's the dark flavors - cherries, currant, pepper, tobacco and petrol that dominate the long finish. This is really salt-of-the-Earth wine, it's dirty and dark and complex. One to savor. We decanted for almost three hours and it was worth every second. Drink up over the next two years, this one will mellow out and I get the feeling the flavors will die out soon thereafter.

Nice G/S blend with some stoney funk to it. Definitely could use a bit of decanting time as it really develops with some oxygen exposure.

consistent with last notes. It is one of the best values out there.
