Burgundy color with a slight tinge of brown on the edge. The nose has leather, stewed blackberry, and tobacco leaf. Palate follows with more of the same, boysenberry, but the sugar content is quite high. Slight pepper on the medium plus finish. I enjoy a wine of this complexity and palpable quality. Could probably hold for several more years based on sugar alone

Still one of my favorite wines ever. Rich and succulent, with soft tannins and smooth full body. Great the first night with lamb and italian sausage ragu. Just as good the next night before dinner.
