Red fruit, cherry, spices, and raspberry on the nose. Medium+ acidity with medium tannins. Red berries, raspberry, and a hint of oranges on the palate. Good finish.

Decanted 1h.Translucent purple. A-very primary: ripe black cherries/blackberries, some bark and earth. P-Less ripe red/black fruits, some minerality, spices. Medium bodied. Nice acids. Moderate finish of spice and fruit w a little heat. Feels like it needs some time.

Open 3 bottles of this second label Peay Pinot Noir over the last 3 weeks. I did not decant. It could use about one hour though. I want to watch how this wine evolved. Deep rich color purplish. on the nose Cherry and strawberry with a mild black pepper scents. On the taste the Cherry tones are bold at first then come the spicy tones that I look for from Peay. I does evolve with time and I began to get some strawberry tones as air got o it.. My favorite 2012 Pinot under $40.00. And probably will get better with a little more time.

Decanted for 2 hrs. Trasparent almost electric garnet. Aromas showed bright red cherries, pomegranate, cranberries, some sous bois and just the barest hint of alcohol. On palate, tart cherries, cranberries, minerals with a bit of earth and bark. Acidity is quite high, reminiscent more of Burgundy than CA. Nice moderate length in finish. 91 on day 1 On day 2, gained some more weight. Fruit is more on black spectrum rather than red. Less lithe than yesterday. Still really enjoyable 90. For <$30, this is a bargain as CA pinots go.
