Colour is fantastic, like gold in a bottle! Huge nose with ripe fruit and everlasting minerality. Sweet with medium body and awesome acidity. Layers of ripe fruit that comes up one after the other makes this a wine to enjoy for a couple of hours if you have the chance! If you find it, buy!

AP# 062. Quite delicious, faint hints of diesel, and honey move to an utterly quenching palate of green apple and slate. Pretty lean for an Auslese, but 20 years will do that. This is magnificent, elegant and delicate. Mouthwatering stuff.

Some wines with dinner (Chatelain, Magnien and Kloster Eberbach) (Chicago): Some crust under the capsule but the cork comes out perfectly and the wine is in great shape. The first pours show rich raisin flavors suggesting some botrytis inclusion (we didn't know how ripe this was, anyone have any idea if this is as high as the BA range?), but there is not too much complexity. There is very little overt sweetness left on the palate, rather a perfectly balanced wine that moved effortlessly across the tongue. The finish is long and full of honeyed complexity. With some time the nose starts to show more complexity, but who can name these aromas??? Just a wonderful interplay of smells, maybe some dried flowers in there. An absolutely delightful wine that I will not soon forget.

Enormous rich taste, dried fruits balanced with delicious honey and lots of smooth Riesling-petroluem (feels like changing the oil but in a good way). Everlasting aftertaste. One of the best Riesling I have ever had.

Dinner by Patrick Kimpel * with "Versteigerungsspitzen & Schatzkammerweine" (Rheingau Gourmet & Wein Festival, Kloster Eberbach): Amazing fruit, at peak at 20 years old but with lots of potential, honey and peach, spices, rich, deliciously tropical.
