  Bottle 259/506. Less in the zone than a recent 08 of this wine. The quality however undoubted and with more potential. Suchots is sort of a half way house in my mind between his Colombiere and Reignots in intensity. It’s got superb mineralite. Drop dead gorgeous cherry fruit, sexy! At times with air hints of umami which I usually only get in his Reignots and Romanee. 94++

  Five winos excellent adventure , mostly in Burgundy; 6/7/2019-6/15/2019 (Beaune, France): From Barrel, I wrote “If you can smell silk, this is it.” and my impression remains identical. Incredibly refined yet hedonistic nose displaying pure sweet black fruit, blackberry liqueur, fresh blackberry, black cherry, a hint of licorice, dark milk chocolate, rose, a hint of Vosne spice, spicy spices and crushed rocks. Perfectly harmonious palate, very finely layered pure black fruit, silky and fluid, perfect amount of acidity and mineral, and a seamless long pure black fruit driven finish with a hint of licorice at the end. Drinking beautifully.
