certainly felt like it will benefit from at least another ten years of age, but was drinking well now, guests guessed burgundy... it was med bodied (for Barolo) and had good acidity and some tannin still lingering... fruit was hard to discern so I'll call it purple (ie not red but not dark either)... at this point 91-92 pts but ratings in this age range are less relevant

11/27/2023 - MC2 Wines Likes this wine:
Piemonte: Truffles instead of Turkey; 11/23/2023-12/2/2023 (Barolo, Barbaresco, Alto Piemonte and of course Alba): Very nice wine although a bit overshadowed by the Brunate which was just in a great spot. This was quite bright and a bit more herbal and less fruited but drinking well.

very ripe, rich, dark dried fruited, and somewhat astringent. good but could use more plushness to the mouthfeel.
