Tasted blind. Red fruits, fairly high in acid, volcanic type minerality, crunchy. I thought Beaujolais for a minute but guessed old world, Nerello Mascalese. Surprising.

This wine must have a lot of bottle variation - given the wide array of TNs. Personally, I think it is very varietially correct - medium acidity, tannin and body. Lots of fruit - cherry, raspberry, and some peppery spice. Decent finish. A nice drink and good QPR. But it sure isn't going to last 5 more years....

Tannins were still quite edgy. Could be held for another 5 years. Fruit was intense but not well balanced. It felt like a fruit dance in my mouth making it not very food friendly.

Excellent with braised Persian lamb shanks. Bright acid, cherry and raspberry, clean finish that perfectly complemented the lamb's richness.
