This truly was spectacular. Tonight, I hosted my guys' wine night, and for dessert, I served this Port with chocolate cake and chocolate ice cream. This wine was off the charts fantastic. Truly an unbelievable treat. The wine was fresh, rich, complex, with fantastic fruit. None of us could believe that this was a 61-year-old wine. Truly one of the best Ports of my entire life. Wow!!! Epic!!! Great fruit!! Great complexity. We all were in awe!!

A generous present from a friend, to share at Christmas dinner (and, as it turned out, the two subsequent dinners): The cork was very wet. An insane quantity of sediment. The wine emerged very pale, a light purple-brown color, with a brandy aroma. On day one, very strong raisin flavor but quite thin. Similar on day two. But the last glasses on day three were very different -- much richer, intense caramel sweetness, with a walnut flavor. The raisin flavor was still there, but integrated into something much bigger. This was an unexpected pleasure. So I guess I would recommend, hesitantly, decanting this two days ahead.

(Graham Porto Vintage) Bricking medium red color with pale meniscus; earthy, spice box, sweet meat nose; lovely, hedonistic but poised, dried cherry, raspberry, chocolate palate with sweet tannins and serious grip; very long finish 97+ pts. (decanted for nearly 4 hours)

MAGNUM Vintage Port (CUT restaurant Beverly Hills): Out of magnum, number 5:in the flight. Very good, deep, enamoring on the palate, fruitier than the others, sweet palate and finish.
