DRC Tasting Group: Rhone Night (Wild Ginger, Seattle, WA): Tasted blind. Earth, red fruit, spice and smoke on the nose. Rich, soft and so elegant on the palate. More youthful, with great red and blue fruit. Great spine of acidity and length. Balanced. Nice tannin structure. Still quite young, and will age nicely.
'04 vintage but holding up really well. I would drink in the next 5 years. Good balance with some earthy/funky notes. Chocolate and tobacco. Better than the '04 Clos des Papes that was tasted together.
