A couple small glasses consumed over 1 hour. Medium body, mild cantaloupe & quince fruit with a hint of lemon zest and a good sense of pithy, waxy "white Rhone-ness." A little more subdued than I was expecting, and it might not have matched well with everything in our varied appetizer-style dinner, but an enjoyable bottle all the same.
I picked up these with the intention of aging for a few years, I like when roussanne has a few years under its belt. Plus, I already knew I liked this wine from tasting at falltacular. Well, I couldn't wait and glad I popped it.
Light yellow, bit of gold around the rim. Nose is very crisp, apple and citrus with floral hints. Palate is awesome, lemon zest and fresh lemon juice from the attack with serious acidity as a foundation. There's an ever so slight hint of delicious lemon custard at the finish. Very sharp and bright. Superb wine.
