  • Translucent garnet color with a pink ruby edge. The smells are smoke, cherry, red licorice, cloves, dill, and sweet berries. The tastes are cherry, red licorice, sweet spices, brown sugar, and floral tastes. The finish is long and delicious and the tannins are fine and integrated. Very delicious.

  • Really pungent nose of black cherry and red spices. A full and silky pinot with a deep kick of black cherry fruit. Quite ripe and a bit sweet on the finish with hints of minerals and red spices. The fruit is really delicious but it's a bit too extracted for my taste.

  • gorgeous potpourri and fruit nose; plenty of fruit but it was a bit soft and muddled, and the oak isn't fully integrated. Not sure where this is going but it has a lot of stuffing.

  • Opened and recorked before a restaurant meal, but then left at home on the way out the door. Judging by the tastes before and after, that was just as well, as this lacked the likable finish and balance of most any other W-S in my experience. Lots of fruit, but not especially interesting or expressive right now, although there is plenty of substance and no sense of artifice here. Most promising and pinot-like off the nose. A bit past prime on day 2, but the integration was welcome. Missed the sweet spot on this bottle, let's try this again in 2019.

  • Blood red. Cherry nose. Currants and cherry cola were the overwhelming top notes. Some cedar and raspberry emerged over time. Still quite young and should improve.
