Stewed fruit and vanilla on the nose. Very smooth and balanced although the fruit has pretty much faded now. Savoury flavours dominate - wood and spice, with medium length. Quite earthy but very enjoyable depending on how you like your wines.

Drank too late, last year it still had some balance. This bottle had no life at all. The fruit has banished as well as the acidity. Only secondary and tertiary notes of tobacco, earth and some liquorice.

Red, clear color like it would not have been 8 years, transparent. At the beginning lots of secondary aromas in the nose - leather, tomacco and some dark chocolate. However after 2-3 hours they are replaced by red fruits, spices and plum. Long acidity and well developped tannins (mayb a little too dry) give additional pleasure. Already giving lots of pleasure

Friday Night Double Blind Tasting $40+ (Bin 75): Bright dark crimson to rim, clarity; young, sweet red fruit, spice, floral, a bit reductive, some cedar, sweet medicinal cherry and strawberry; firm palate, strong sappy red fruit, great mid, melted down red fruit, nice texture, really appealing though so young; very good.

Impromptu Saturday Double Blind Tasting $30-$50 (Bin 75): Dark core, garnet rim; sandalwood, cedar, denser, dark cherry, more seamless, sour cherry, tobacco, anise; dense mouthfeel, noble, lots of cherry, slight orange, cedar, fine tannin, lots of freshness; delicious, very good on the pop and pour then it got a little soft and weak then it put on more power with 2 hours of decanting; pretty stout for the 2009 vintage, drink or hold.
