Always a solid drinking Zinfandel for any day use. This one is berry forward, slightly jammy but not too bad. There’s a lot of Oak and some cedar on this wine. A little bit of earth tones as well. Pretty well-balanced. This 2012 vintage is drinking perfectly right now.

Alcohol dominant on the nose and unappealing residual sugar sweetness when opened. That reduced after about 30 minutes and the wine was drinkable, but seems far from Rancho Zabaco's earlier offerings.

A lively bright nose of black cherry and vanilla. The pallet shows toffee, almonds, black cherry on the pallet, with a respectable finish of black coffee and anise. A touch of acidic brightness and soft tannins should keep this afloat through 2018.

A nice balance of minerals, oak, and berries. Many Zins can be very fruit forward, but this achieves a nice balance. It's a little shallow without a lot of depth or complexity, but for the price point, it should be pretty night up on anyone's daily drinker list. Easy drinking with a smooth finish and will pair with many dishes.

Easy drinking Zin. A 30 minute decant damps the sweetness and reveals cherry and spice.
