Community Tasting Notes (4) Median Score: 80 points

  • Solid Rioja which is 100% Tempranillo. Great bottle and the price is right. Plenty of fruit up front with just the right touch of spice. Definitely pair with red meat, cheese and bread or pasta.

  • Rich ruby with medium plus optical density. Medium intensity nose with medium complexity, giving coconut and vanilla oak notes with underlying sour red berries and aromatic florals, and some vegetal character woven in (although this fades with time). There is high acidity that is refreshing on the palate, with medium body, but a soft texture due to restrained tannins. The attack yields vanilla-coated red fruits, with some mild spice layering on at midpalate, which is full and better in complexity than the attack. The finish adds on some light aromaticity and just a hint of vegetal aspect before turning smoky and lingering with light well-worn leather. This is an easy drinking and smooth textured wine, suitable for drinking now and in the medium term, and can be great with food since it is refreshing and smooth, with medium flavour intensity and complexity. Well made, decent wine.

  • Super glossy and easy going. Drinking purely on the fruit at the moment but undoubtedly has enough stuffing for ageing til 2030.

  • Russk. Spanish food and wine tasting at CGCClub. One of my top picks. Try again if under $18. I do like the old world style wines from this producer.
