  • Too oxidized to enjoy.

  • I agree with oldwines that this is a pleasant surprise. The wine had darkened to a deep gold. It took a half hour to open and was best at about 50 degrees. Lots of almond and hazel nut notes, apple and pear fruit and a good acidity.

  • Crazy...I thought this was oxidized trash, through the light green bottle the wine looked dark golden brown, but to my surprise while it is a pretty dark golden color, it is not too oxidized to enjoy. The nose has caramel, burnt orange rind, ripe banana, grilled peach, apricot and honeysuckle. Really complex and fully resolved but still somewhat bright and soft and smooth in your mouth. Palate reflects the nose. Finish is rather long emphasizing the the smoky and caramelized flavors. Shockingly it went really well with a grilled pork tenderloin marinated in teriyaki, garlic and cumin. Very interesting...better than I thought it could be.

  • Opened 2 bottles, one more “advanced” than the other..ie seemed oxidized and was a medium dark golden yellow, almost copper color. The second bottle looked fresher but was still bordering on the color of an “orange wine”. It was slightly oxidative at first but after an hour it seemed to disappear. Nose is slightly nutty and honied with ripe apricot. Palate was richly textured, moderate in acidity and mostly pear and apricot flavored. Overall this was a little disappointing since I have had other vintages of this wine with 10-12 years on them that were pristine and delicious. Nevertheless this was tasty in its own right, with a long finish and was good both as an ingredient in and paired with a sausage, sage and mushroom tagliatelle pasta dish I made.

  • lush, initially slightly crude, sweetish, perfumey nose with apple and pear notes; improves with air: finer and more focused, and somewhat floral. very acid and a bit crude, markedly fruity taste with some skinlike intensity; slightly sweet.
