Decanted (off a fair amount of sediment) for an hour and a half and the wine continued to open into dinner. Dark purple in color with black fruits, red fruits and earth on the nose. The medium plus bodied palate showed blackberry, black currant, black cherry, cranberry, and raspberry plus spice, earth, and a touch of minerality. The juicy acidity was nicely balancing and the tannins were integrated. A very satisfying bottle of wine that is ready to deliver considerable pleasure right now (with air), and probably for several years to come.

Smooth, balanced, medium fruit/subtle chocolate presentation. Plush. Moderate long finish. Decanted and tasted over 4 hours Would decant an hour upfront next time around

My first Saxum James Berry. Reading others' notes, decanted, aired for 4 hrs. before dinner. Some sediment. Garnet. Nose: Beautiful 9/10. Black and blueberries. Palate: 9/10. Full body. Tasted so young after opening. But very balanced after 4 hrs. Excellent mouthfeel. Great viscosity. My brain thinks sweet, but not in the mouth. Fruits, tannins, acidity are well coordinated. Finish: Long 9/10. Brilliant. Long and beautiful. Ended with notes of soft milk coffee. Never had this before. Price: 8/10 ($125 after taxes in 2023). Enjoyment: 9/10. Drink now. Would buy again: Yes. Big, savory wine, all in the good way. Definitely with food.

Similar to prior notes after a 2 hour double decant, best bottle yet (of 10); outstanding & ready to drink, no rush
