Talk about a wine at its peak, this is it. Excellent combination of power and grace, still showing youthful but with secondary nuance on full display. With energetic acidic freshness, bold spice and delicious dark red fruit, it coats the mouth with sour red cherry, and subtle leather and cinnamon accents. Lots going on, but all integrated beautifully, including the oak. Most of all, it’s not obvious like most Brunello’s I come across, rather it’s complex and nuanced. Coming off an uninspiring Biondi-Santi dinner, I was ready to write off the region but this has restored some faith. One of the prime examples I can think of, of a wine opened at the apex of its evolution.

Showing beautifully. Youthful dark appearance, dense nose of Tuscan crushed red fruit with smoke, mineral, earth notes. Lovely wine right now. No need to hold further, but drinking window is still pretty broad.

Dense nose of red fruit, oak and slightly spices. Palate is integrated and balanced with nice acidity.
At the peak but not rush.

faded. Starts with mushrooms which give way to sour cherries and earth.
