Dusty notes of dried cherries and cedar on the nose. The cedar continues on the front with a bit of licorice and tobacco into the mid. Finishes a bit disappointing, moderately tannic with little lingering flavor. Enjoyable now but as a 12 year old wine it may not get better and nothing suggests it worth waiting any longer for.

(Stag's Leap Wine Cellars Fay Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley)) This wine is showing considerable maturity on the nose considering it is just four years of age. Again a lovely weight and texture on the palate. It lacks a little grip through the midpalate but shows more tannin in the finish. Still plenty of fruit. Fine and quite elegant, but very forward.
