Opened about 1 hour prior to tasting. Initially smelled and tasted dead, but was allowed to remain in bottle for another 2 hours. Slowly came around to show black pepper, plum, blackberry, oak, and tobacco notes. Some leathery character also came about with more air. This definitely got better with age, though never got to a truly high level. A quality wine that is drinking probably about as well as it'll drink.
